Yes. Pets are allowed for an additional, non-refundable pet fee, accompanied by our signed Pet Policy, provided the resident can take care of the pet on their own.
Yes, there are lovely gardens and walking paths off the southeast end of the building. We are also very near an underpass that goes under 28th Street to access the beautiful walking areas on the CU campus, and we are located very close to the Boulder Creek path as well.
No. Some good options for swimming include the East Boulder Senior Center, about two miles east of us, and the pool at Scott Carpenter Park, about a mile north of us.
Our calendar has fun, creative, educational, wellness, and spiritual programs. All programs are open to everyone for no extra charge. The only time there may be an extra charge is for a program presented outside of Golden West (i.e. tickets to a show, admission to a museum, etc.)
Yes! We go out regularly to the mountains, museums, concerts, shows, sporting events, etc. All day trips are planned in accordance with the input and interest of residents. We also make the difficulty level known so that the residents can decide if it sounds feasible for them to attend.
We have several lounge areas, including a library, throughout The Towers building. We do offer a variety of fitness groups and classes as part of our monthly activities calendar. We also have a Wellness Center, which is run by Legacy Healthcare and located on the first floor. Anyone can use the Wellness Center, free of charge, to work out during open hours and under the supervision of an exercise physiologist. Residents can also receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy under Medicare Part B with a doctor’s order.
Yes, we have services for both men and women at a specially designed shop. All services are by appointment and payment is arranged through the salon.
Residents can use RTD, located nearby on 30th Street, and special transit for transportation needs outside of our regularly scheduled trips. In assisted living, our staff can set up appointments for residents as well as coordinate and book transportation.
Golden West is a nonprofit corporation that was originally sponsored by First Christian Church in 1965, and now is operated by a Board of Directors composed of members from the Boulder community.

The building includes a brand new sprinkler system and each apartment is equipped with smoke detectors and sprinklers.
Yes. Many of our residents use some sort of device to assist with mobility. We do require residents who use an electric scooter to undergo a safety assessment and sign a safety policy.
We provide telephones with large, easy to use buttons, but you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. In addition, each resident receives an individual, direct phone number through our phone system.
There is a minimum age of 62. There is no maximum age.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Golden West campus.
