‘Yak Girl’ book talk

Dorje Dolma, the author of “Yak Girl: Growing up in the Remote Dolpo Region of Nepal,” grew up in a remote, undeveloped region of Nepal with no modern conveniences. During this talk, she will share vignettes from her childhood as well as tales of centuries-old Tibetan traditions. Her books will be available for purchase following the discussion.
‘My stroke of insight’ TED Talk

Golden West will screen the TED Talk “My stroke of insight” by Jill Bolte Taylor. In this talk, brain researcher Jill Bolte Taylor will recount the research opportunity of a lifetime, the chance to examine her declining brain functioning after suffering her own massive stroke. The New Recorder Consort performance

The New Recorder Consort is comprised of seven recordists who will perform some of Stephen Foster’s most beloved songs, as well as classic songs from the Romantic and Renaissance eras. Their performance will feature the unique sounds of garklein recorders.
The Canyon Guy presentation

Golden West will welcome Charly Heavenrich, aka The Canyon Guy, for a presentation on his rafting adventures through the Grand Canyon. Heavenrich is an inspirational speaker who will make you believe that you can accomplish more than you ever thought possible.
